Stigma of a Cat

halfcrow-2

Well, this picture is not perfect.  I have to question if it is supposed to be, because I get mixed readings on that.  For starts, it is a crow, not a raven.  This lyric first jumped into my head yesterday, and while the initial rhyme is open to interpretation, I have a certain idea in mind, particularly to encourage a persistent, calm mood and attitude: for understanding behavior (including our own).

Things are not always what they seem to be.  Depression, anxiety, mania and stigma can revert to a calm mood – and healthy understanding, when we ground ourselves, and simply take a slightly different perspective. To do this, often we must ground our decisions about events, people and mental health in the most concrete way we can find.  Make it available.  Do research if necessary. Find out what we can.  From one angle, life can be depressing or bring unreal, anxious, condemning thoughts.  From a perspective grounded in another way – away from negative judgement, we can find calm – even peace.  The thing is: sometimes the most unexpected truths will change our perspective on events and personalities.  Often these truths are quite available.  They may even present themselves.  These details, can be observed when we stretch out.  They can be described by science (sometimes found on google!) and also just by asking another person.

Diversify our perspectives, and find peace in the truths that exist in life and nature. Sometimes these truths are just a slight stretch out of our reach.  We just have to look, and listen hard enough.  Feel the big picture, or identify the details that can help us have a calm, optimistic attitude.  The animals here represent parts of the human spirit, and also the very creatures that exist.

Volatile smile that makes us wild,

Raven flies over all those miles,

Fast cat catches up to the light,

Smile again when we feel alright,

Reason for moods can be as plain as day,

Other times they are hidden far away,

Sometimes the truth is really out of sight,

The cat chased the raven into the night,

Here’s the point, with no intentional guile,

To explain the facts behind this strange style,

If you stay calm you’ll gain the best insight,

Find understanding when the time is right,

These things that happen may seem to be planned,

When stars line up, it’s not a slight of hand,

Events in our life, all the things we say,

Are sure to be lined up in this same way,

Wake up to see the cat beside feathers,

Patience for truth is in need of tethers,

Mystic bird breaks free of the night and day,

Mocks the cat and stigma has gone away

This is a living document on this website.  Updates are most likely to occur within the next month.  I post this today, as it is fresh, but I may like to improve it as I continue to think on these topics.  Happy New Year!  Hope you find health and peace.

Present Future

Painting: Lee Matuga

I’ve got a feeling about the future,

It is more than just another sunrise,

Exactly how it happens I’m not too sure,

But not everything new is a surprise,

We can predict things and they will come true,

We can make mistakes, and nothing turns out,

Planning our goals is a good thing to do,

Achieving our dreams comes without a doubt,

In sleep we walk as far as waking,

In waking we walk till we fall asleep,

In dreams there must be chance-taking,

In life we must take risks for what we keep,

In all our futures, safety comes in waves,

Calm or stormy shores, faith’s what often saves,

I’ve got a feeling about the future,

It is more than just another sunrise,

I want to be with you always, for sure,

I do, but that should come as no surprise,

I can predict things that sometimes come true,

Mostly because they are easy to see,

Being ready keeps me steady and you,

Make it no problem to see what I need,

In sleep time unravels till our waking,

In waking I love you until we sleep,

In dreams there may be no real news breaking,

But life is intertwined with thoughts we keep,

Our future and life comes to me in waves,

This love, like the tides – shore forever craves

Love of Life

2014-jan-059

Life takes many forms.  Love of these forms is natural.

Love of Life

You know I love the water, love the water, in the waterfall,

You know I love the river, love the lake, love the pitcher of cool water

You know I love the water, the pure water, and we drink it up,

You know I love the water, the salt water, down at the seaside,

Rising up, Raining down, dipping into the cool blue oasis

Diving in, drinking down, sipping from the stream that is flowing,

Water is life,

You know I love the children, love the children, more than anything else, yah,

You know I love the kids, love the new world, love and nurture our new hope- yah,

God I love the woman, oh that woman, – more than anything else,

God I love the woman, so much more than anything else oh yah

Voice of a Loon

2006_087

When you learn that the world is mystical,

Dealing with science creates enigma,

Without worries, life may seem whimsical,

But creative fires smoke with stigma,

When praise embraces the smudge of the cloud,

We are enabled to feel clean and proud,

A message may come through quiet or loud,

Yet others must strain to get past the shroud,

Through morning fog we hear the crying loon,

Like songs we hear meaning behind the tune,

Just a bird or does it join in your dream?

Life and art may change, seen through rising steam,

Advances, grandeur, the modern day’s plan,

Pure truth still taught by an ancient shaman

Future Plans

stars 11-1 (2)

Up above in the sky I see the stars,

I want to reach up and strain to grab one,

Holding my whole life in my hands and arms,

I can see that I already have one,

Hello fine world – how you stay fair to me,

Beauty unbound in the rays that you shine,

I look away, your image I still see,

This earth we cradle, surely yours and mine,

Understanding should look to the future,

Optimism makes chances stay brighter,

Self-fulfilling prophecies are for sure,

Best occurring when feelings are lighter,

Life has so many trials and demands,

The constellations connect all our plans
