Latent content?

guitar dime 004

This is the second sonnet I wrote this morning.  They are connected (see in the blog below this one). We all pout and are gaudy sometimes. Hate to be misunderstood.

Each of Us (Making an Impression)

All that we know – surely shaped by our brain,

Much of life truly trained by our body,

Some may fight in streets in the pouring rain,

One of us pouts and preens and is gaudy,

What may change is the view – last in line smiles,

Material world does not capture all,

Giving up what they knew, lost the fine styles,

Latent content is where most of us fall,

Sudden shift for some –  happens all the time,

Try to shake it up a bit more each day,

The trickle down – it comes right to the dime,

How fair to ignore concerns far away?

One chance to make an impression on you,

Sometimes – not a single thing I would do

Freudian Trials

A sonnet that I wrote this morning.  This is about sharing views and news without misunderstanding the truth of each complicated personality.

So Blue

Each day the news arrives at your front door,

Out to recycle when the day has passed,

The headlines all change, but you are hard core,

Your understanding of the world will last,

My own perspective is great from up high,

But I can still see what goes on beneath,

It’s clear to me, that just sometimes words lie,

Today feels like I got kicked in the teeth,

Cruel Freudian slips, the kind that sink ships,

Distort truth, and leave me out on the range,

Great psychology tips, can’t stop my lips,

My read of manifest content is strange,

It’s not always that way, I can think too,

Maybe the reason I don’t feel so blue

Dragons in Economy

Painting: Lee Matuga

This is a bit of writing about how hard it is to find the job you need, and what we can do to remain in a productive balance of looking for the right job while not getting eaten up by the other entities that  challenge us.

The system changes and we play catch up,

When it stays the same, we will bitch and moan,

Technical advances – then the gigs up,

Mighty dollar cannot be overthrown,

Revolution rises and then is crushed,

Each of us a dragon guarding treasure,

Fire-filled face with buried fear is flushed,

Chasing prey till weakness is in measure,

New wave hits, so we challenge what is wrong,

No wasted chance – each must find ways to win,

Karma always waiting – forever strong,

Thousands of years today: end and begin,

Is it fair to sit back, enjoy the day?

Wait for fate: try not to suffer away?

Spirit Resources

What’s up?  Fill the cup,

Who is hotter?  Pour the water,

Busy God is no fraud,

Do you see pain?

When you bring rain?

Off by miles, flooding trials,

Overloaded, People-goaded,

Multi-tasking, Reptile basking,

Need the sun,

So we can run,

Creatures sensing, Resource-tensing,

Overriding, Spirit-guiding,

Chance unlocks, Paradox,

Human race,

Ancient face,

What’s down? On the ground?

Who is lying?  Science trying,

People fight for what’s right?

Do you share your views?

When you win or lose?

A Complete Game

Looking back now, this writing has changed a bit, but it is about modern communications, (phone, pc, etc.) and making a complete game.
This is my poem… Or at least I’m about to write it:

Breaking into Opportunities

Connection… In a heart beat,
Life-changing decisions travel down copper and glass channels,
Wires and fiber-optics,
What the Hell did I say?
Words and impressions ricochet:
I was really out there at the time,
Out on a limb, on the wire, connected…
A great understanding came over me,
And I paddled up the raging river of information,
Driven into another person’s perspectives: detailed programs,
Finding another rival,
Maybe a partner,
Combination – corner pocket,
In the middle of the game:  Making unheard of shots,
Forcing a difficult opportunity to win or lose,
A series of plays, a combination pushing opportunities into a complete game,
Win or lose,
Rack them up

Casting words

It has been a while since I posted, so I whipped this together…  Basically it is about a bit of uncertainty and getting hopes up.  There is an undertow that is welcome and leads to opportunity.  Working to remain optimistic and build on confidence.

It may seem to you:  I strut on heedless,

This week, I’m walking on pins and needles,

Sure of the next step, since there is no choice,

Unsure of what lies beyond that – Your voice

Promises chance, unexpected seed spills,

A decision made – that changes free wills,

These fast words to me are more than mere toys,

And your quick change of heart really annoys,

Just cast aside, caught in a branch downstream,

Line tied around the swamp grass and a reed,

More keen on the bait that is still moving,

Seems I swung my lure too far in a dream,

Background music that suggests I succeed,

Opening doors, things are still improving

Need Music – Your Rhythms to Survive

Swimming in a perfect V, soon changed to flying in a perfect V.   Takes a while to get into full flight, but sometimes our moves in our ‘teams’ are perfectly timed.  No wonder we are always testing the waters, or asking each other, “What’s up?”.

Sky Is the Limit….

Word comes down,

All good comes around

When you break it down,

Limit goes up and up

Analyze

All the lows and highs,

When you plan the prize,

Limit goes up and up

I must make my way right to the source, yah

My good friend, I think you know why I am here,

Its the light I see in these days of course, yah

And in the dark our dreams come naturally,

Choosing the moves and our music soothes,

And all that I need is the synchronous grooves,

Word comes down,

All good comes around

When you break it down,

Limit goes up and up

Scraping the sky for diamonds in the rough,

Raising up high:  sun and stars in a cup,

The highs of you and me…

Choosing the moves and the music soothes,

And all that I need is the synchronous grooves,

Choosing the plays and the music stays,

And all that I need is the top of the days,

Word comes down,

All good comes around

When you break it down,

Limit goes up and up

Seizing Opportunity

ee2006

Picture taken by my Dad

Everyone expects it, in time: Change,

Like an eagle swooping out of the sky,

Grasping a meal, and seizing the future,

For the prey: life’s cycle comes to an end,

A final consequence of the action,

The eagle’s life is perpetuated,

I cannot be sure if I will rejoice

In the new day, high on top of the world,

With energy building, I see so far,

Or does the dream stop now? The tables turned?

With a great need for change, this idle life

Of the prey: a missed opportunity,

A form that may surely appear again,

But now has faded into the moment

I started writing this about the two paths that you can take at any given time.  Either way there are consequences – as we edge forward to reach our goals.  Missed opportunity can be a drag, but in some ways it could help us build for the future – make us hungrier.   In my opinion it helps your spirit to be optimistic.

The Bright Side

So you know when lightning hits and it gives you a charge?  You kind of laugh a bit and say, “Wow that was close!”  At the same time a bit nervous, but excited? Scared, but hoping it happens again?

This is a sonnet about problems, laughter and looking on the bright side that I connected to lightning.  It’s like laughing at problems can help deal with them.  So long as you can still laugh – it’s not that bad?

For me, at times, things will just be going along…and then: something really striking happens, that energizes me.

“Missing Lightning”

It’s great when you can laugh about what gives,

Problems can dissipate from perspectives,

Parts of pain in life fade fast with humour,

A sure sign is your smile – It suits you more,

You may laugh at things when they are funny,

Or you may have just broken down and cried,

Sometimes easy to enjoy irony,

Wait briefly, anger and fear may subside,

So amazing how it turns out this way,

A thunder crash shook up my soul today,

A thrilling laugh as I don’t think as much,

I sense each stray strike: every new touch,

When it’s too distant, I miss knowing this,

The unbridled power in lightning’s kiss

Critical Mass – Surviving Art – Saving Grace

to 17-1-13 036

This is just another sonnet about being creative and how supposed art or work can sometimes be received  ( Not always- just sometimes – or in some cases).  I try to remain upbeat.  Lucky for me I can find other work to pay the bills, and have my artistic side, and education goals to live off.   It is still nice to be able to share images.  There is something still welcoming about this scene.

Hold tight to the end, when optimism shines through or pays off.

Critical Mass

Surrender now to the critical world,

It is different light, from which they see,

On the verge of holding heaven unfurled,

Instead they decide to crucify me,

Awake!  Did you hear that?   Are you aware?

The beaten has risen from where it lay,

Scrutiny of words, with a cross to bear,

The goal has been taken, now I will pay,

No fate on this earth has been sold for sure,

Unless the die is filled, it is not true,

The water you drink within wine is pure,

The flesh you shed may it never be new,

Work that you behold they may never know,

Saving grace can change the way it will go
