Love of Life

sun dog (2)

I’m sure of time right now,

And so I face my fate,

It’s already happening,

I can guarantee I won’t be late,

Breathing in your real true love,

And I anticipate,

When we collapse tonight,

First we will have set things straight,

Let’s climb heights no words can say,

Rise strong to take all we need,

Get wrapped up in our world and play,

Rest easy as we dream,

Don’t worry about anything,

See clear the day ahead,

And make the most because every minute matters,

We start the day sublime,

The fine line is just in sight,

We make sure it reigns,

Way past the morning light,

And I’m so sure you know,

The pace can make this race,

Whether we take it fast or slow,

We will win in absolutely any case,

When we think first with soul,

We make it through this way,

No challenge we have to fear,

Let’s make the most of every night and day,

We embrace the world,

All we need is truly here,

One thing we can surely say,

Is that our love of life is always clear

Healthy Communication in Goal-Pursuit

3olys 008

Looks hectic, but we achieved our goal.  This communications panel, as well as 8 other similar panels that we were contracted for in this project – worked flawlessly for this  international event (Telephone and Internet lines) !

Communication is about sharing ideas.  There are so many ways to communicate – from a simple nod or smile to an elaborate series of conversations in your life, or even an online blog.  In many ways, this is how we learn to survive and develop a good quality of life.  This is the objective.  Unfortunately, some efforts to share ideas never get past square one.  Likewise, receiving messages and developing a useful interpretation of the information sent – is not always assured.  Whether you struggle to have stability in life or not: communication strategies that overcome these barriers can be developed to promote mental health, goal-achievement, and a better quality of life.

When I think about communication and effective sharing of ideas, the first thing that I find necessary to consider is my goals.  Basically:  What is my personal mission statement – my main goals in life?  It is important at some point to give this very serious thought.   If you are already aware of what you would aim for in most settings, it may only take a few seconds to relate this to your own current experience.  For other people, trying to describe this might take days to formulate – perhaps even years!  Many people don’t give it a second thought, have never been asked, or don’t have any need to put it into words.

What is my main goal in life?  Health?  Community?  Family?  For some people top goals might be money, travel, or just an even flow philosophy.  Freud might say, ‘Sex’.  Clearly biological needs, including sex, eating, sleep and exercise could be main goals.  It could be a collection of these drives and aspirations, but once I have a strong idea about my main goals, I am more prepared to express any idea that I hope to convey.  This is about what I stand for.  Whether I am reaching out with a complex view that I hold, or just asking someone what time it is – I work at expressing myself in a way that reflects the goals that I have established.  For example, my communication, in my opinion, should always be directed towards health.  Even if I am making small talk, I talk with a tone and attitude that I direct to good health, which includes mental and physical health, and goes on to include that of those around me.  Often this just means being pleasant, respectful and only venturing into controversy when I have adequate support and reason.  I try to engage in discussions, for a total net benefit.  In general, that is what I stand for.  At some times, my focus might be slightly different: For example, I may want to promote the value of music, or work on getting full-time employment and education.   Still the ‘mission statement’ about promoting health is going to be evident in whatever I communicate.  So: in knowing how and what to communicate – Start with your mission statement, what you stand for, and what you want to get across, share or learn.

Finding courage to go for your goals is another story.  This can be the biggest hurdle in getting your message across.  I think that often you have to look at it like: Nothing ventured – nothing gained.  In many scenarios, just being polite and assertive will assure that your message will at least be received.  There is no harm in expressing yourself if you are not interfering with others, and you are not getting yourself in trouble.  That is a great reason to get out there.  You have nothing to lose.

Beyond that, there is a point where you may have to cross a line to get your message through.  In my opinion, first and foremost, it is important to be reasonable.  Evaluate the impact of your potential communication.  Does the net value of achieving your goals surpass the chance of your message being temporarily unwanted, disturbing or even superficially harmful?  The truth is that at some times, people are just going to disagree with you, or feel some hurt from what you express.  This needs to be assessed. Is there a chance that you can create a greater value behind your message – to help you achieve your goals, but also be more acceptable to all of your contacts?   Goal-pursuit is of huge importance, but in any of this expression, it is also important to consider what is permissible, what is reasonable and how far can we take it without crossing the line.  Still you may consider: what is the ‘line’ and when is it permissible to cross it?  The ‘line’ is a certain boundary.  It could be the point when you make someone’s emotion change, or the point that you are taking a risk.  While at some point it is good to change emotions (It is a part of making a message memorable), yours and your contacts’ well-being should come first; Even if you get your message across, potential unwanted consequences and bad feedback could cancel any advances that the initial communication gained.  We must work to stay safe, and be considerate of others’ situations in all cases.  Questions that we may consider could be: Are we comfortable? Are our contacts comfortable?  Are we making progress in a way that will promote the goals that we strive for?

The next big thing is time and place – and who do you communicate with?  The mission statement is number one here too.  Communicate with people, in a time and place that can help in your goals.  If health is in your mission, communicating to help others can fall under your umbrella too.  Similarly, you need to put your antennae up, and be alert for messages that may affect you – especially those that involve your main goals.  Who we talk to, and where and when, may seems obvious to you.  We communicate in our comfort zone.  Sometimes we need to step out of this and push our courage.  If you have a good message, you should be able to take it anywhere.  Pay attention when it seems to matter most to you, and jump in when you have your ideas well-formulated.  How others understand your message, and also how you interpret information – can have a direct impact on your confidence, and your success in achieving your goals.  Keep it simple.  Look for answers and messages that are clear and useful.  It also seems to help to look for ideas that are easy to memorize.  Above all: Find inspiration! This will often help determine how our most important communications will develop.

Communication is part of goal-pursuit that can involve a person and her or his contacts.  A calm, optimistic approach is often more effective than a frantic or gloomy approach.  To find the inspiration to move forward, and express yourself: You just need to find your motivation and mission.  The rest will just play out, while you steer your own way.  There are some easy ways to have yourself noticed nowadays.  When the internet can reach almost anyone – communication can be a very easy to access, powerful way of achieving goals. It is important to take care, but when you have a clear message in your goals – push your courage.  As far as improving mental and physical health – in my opinion, goal achievement and confident communications help improve stability.  As part of a healthy lifestyle, decent communications and managed goal-pursuit can definitely help maintain and improve your quality of life.  Be brave.  If you have a good message, sharing it can make a world of difference.

The sun is shining somewhere

The moon guides us to this spot,

And there is always light,

Somewhere.

At any time of the day or night, she is there,

At any time ever, we are close,

Joined in meaning and to this life,

Once existing,

Then shining every moment,

Always in direction and time somehow truly and forever connected

Cool

2014-begins-014-2

Diving deep into a sea of sunrises,
Every day of our life exists,
On its own, but with all others,
The characteristics of each moment are compiled into the collective conscious,
When you smile – it lasts forever,
Etched into the universal mind,
A reason to celebrate,
Strive to sustain those seconds,
Turning our time into content hours and days,
Washing out the problems and making obstacles obsolete,
Patience creating calm and optimistic moods,
Pressing for courage when needed,
Kindness colouring every day,
And magic sealing our package deal,
Our lives pushed further into happiness,
Then after these seeming centuries, We have more chances to smile,
Just from staying cool

Winning Stance

10 years earlier, in hospital, but I found strategies to maintain health. Then completed electrical apprenticeship. Here I am as successful telecommunications foreman for a 2 year project.

Everyone in the world wants happiness,
Lack of resources causes crappy stress,
In subtle or obvious ways we search,
On the edge of want and need we perch,
Some of us so sure we are by ourselves,
I choose to think we’re more like books on shelves,
When we read what we want we can create,
Whether fortune is planned we can debate,
Making our own chance, is it possible?
I think we can, but I have losses still,
This work, and even misfortune at times,
All part of life as the sun or moon climbs,
By having faith, we make the most of chance,
By keeping pace, we take a winning stance

Choose Calm

Success will be achieved, by working with true intentions,
Messing with destiny just would be way too pretentious,
Strive for what you need, and recognize your best balance,
Every step you take is a certain kind of challenge,
In the depths of anxiety one moment, and elated in the next,
If heaven was a mood that stays – that would be by far the best,
Emotional stability is desirable for good health,
But without a bit of variation, joy would be hard to tell,
I think about what I have, all I love, then sometimes troubles,
Work on all the problems, enjoy good time and hope it doubles,
Cool to stay calm and optimistic, even when times are really tough,
True calm helps us work through problems, and can make them easy enough,
We face hardships and privileges that make us judge our world,
Maybe a conscious decision or a wise genetic pearl

Present Future

I’ve got a feeling about the future,

It is more than just another sunrise,

Exactly how it happens I’m not too sure,

But not everything new is a surprise,

We can predict things and they will come true,

We can make mistakes, and nothing turns out,

Planning our goals is a good thing to do,

Achieving our dreams comes without a doubt,

In sleep we walk as far as waking,

In waking we walk till we fall asleep,

In dreams there must be chance-taking,

In life we must take risks for what we keep,

In all our futures, safety comes in waves,

Calm or stormy shores, faith’s what often saves,

I’ve got a feeling about the future,

It is more than just another sunrise,

I want to be with you always, for sure,

I do, but that should come as no surprise,

I can predict things that sometimes come true,

Mostly because they are easy to see,

Being ready keeps me steady and you,

Make it no problem to see what I need,

In sleep time unravels till our waking,

In waking I love you until we sleep,

In dreams there may be no real news breaking,

But life is intertwined with thoughts we keep,

Our future and life comes to me in waves,

This love, like the tides – shore forever craves

Over the topics

We all have something to say, at least some of the time.  Sometimes we keep it to ourselves…  Sometimes we expand our views by sharing them – and entertain ideas purposefully.  Words can impact us internally as well as socially.  Language can be influenced by mood, and can also impact mood in the present and in the future.  In some instances we imagine a world that lives in the moment of expression – and that can be perpetuated through focus.  These are just a few thoughts, inspired by poetry.

You Out There

117-2

Am I finally alive?

I have climbed through one hundred lifetimes of solitude, dead to the world…

No one to turn to – a rock frozen in a glacier,

Unable to move forward towards my goals any faster than frozen water spilling,

You are my fire, and waves of life are jettisoned into oceans of new existence,

Each pool of dreams now reflecting power,

The sun, moon and stars shine their light in the tide of change,

Quietly on the shore, we walk along,

Surrounded by the new world, at first uncertain, stepping carefully,

Slowly becoming aware that this world is immaculate,

Is it just a dream?  Will the floods seep into the sand and rocks quenching only mere moments?

Or will we be swept up into true devotion – drowning worries and doubt and making this world whole?

Our steps are not chosen for us, but they are guided,

And I stretch my hand out to you,

Dying for your love, reaching for you,

Just as the stars in the sky align for each other,

Aiming for immortality

In the 1990’s I went to university. I had to do a lot of thinking to do.

My thoughts are careening, corroding,
I’m crying foul if I don’t find some better power,
Won’t be upset at all, to slip into a free fall,
No wreckage diving through these clouds and icy showers,
Our life can be like the road, each corner’s showed, only when the wheel is spinning round,

The destination saves, brighter days,
At the next turn you see stripes on the roadside stand still,
Just know where to park it, and when you should start it,
That way you have the best chance to live all of life’s thrills,
Each day the earth will still move, Surely time proves exactly what we have always found,
Average days, blend into haze, but pure excitement saves the days by leaps and bounds,

Maybe your next life time, will be the right time to cash in on all of your reserves,
If you are lucky and hard-working then tomorrow you may get what you deserve,
You can’t wait for karma to kick in,
But if you drive steady cool, and stay fair to rule,
You may find it all comes around,

Make the best choice, use your mind’s voice,
And be poised to ensure you keep raising the bars,
Know when there’s time at hand, its best to plan,
If you see their light, keep shooting for the stars,
There no use waiting, and then fading – pretending it will all happen by itself,
Our brain catapults best results, if we choose the right stations, learn patience, and stealth,

My thoughts are brightening, enlightening, I’m still fighting to make it all work out,
There is no losing, just choosing and I am cruising past all those irritating doubts,
I know what I need, and I don’t have greed, or lead a distant co-existence,
We are all out there, and that’s exactly where, we all live to learn, burn, and mend,
Life can be so serene, or totally mean, – What you give: you will get back in the end
