Good Hearts Have Pure Skill

New poem here. Keeping the intro on my website.

Sometimes I start writing a poem and don’t know where it is going to go. Is it going to be more of a lyric? More or less rhyme and what about the structure?

The meaning and flow tends to drive it. This one went through some changes, but maintains the original ideas.

I also have a song that I am recording…. Maybe ready this week…. I will post it on SoundCloud under MacroMichael.

The picture here is from our Ontario trip. We were very close to Bobcaygeon of The Tragically Hip and Gord Downie lore and brilliant music…

All respect.
Beautiful place and people.

Good Hearts Have Pure Skill

Some days
Some people
work through the filth
and then somehow escape it
and might not get ill
*
Shower up clean
and feel complete
We may feel safe to be at home
and still have to hit the streets
**
Some things
Some people
know are overkill
Somehow treasures get wasted
while they skip the bill
*
Some times
Some people
don’t need the frills
yet somehow we will take it
if we can all chill
**
Devour the treats
and feel complete
Save some for everyone
A better way to compete
*
Some way
All people
should have some thrills
and somehow get to make it
and each get our fill
*
It is all about the place
and time that we reach
**
Empower more peace
until it feels complete
The best part of reality
truly starts to come to me
when I am more grateful
for what I have in my world
*
They once told me
If you are close-minded
You just won’t find it
because we can’t be sure
when we stay isolated
Repetition demonstrates it
Nothing gets created
in an echo chamber
**
Reach out beyond it
to become stronger
Share fairly and give thanks longer
It can’t be wrong here
if it makes us all feel better
*
The best part of reality
finally comes to me
when I make a difference
with what I have in this world
*
Some lives
Some people
just have the will
Somehow never forsake it
Good hearts have pure skill
