placed onto our broad shoulders
put there by the hands of fate
holding on tight
to our most honest efforts
in truth, the burden dissipates

grains of sand or huge boulders
determine plans and find fate

shapes and sizes of all sorts
details on which we concentrate

Then shut the gate hard enough
so the lock catches
and we can get on with
sights and sounds
speaking to us or
tweaking bright memories
on a level playing field
and for a safe journey
quickly moving
just as in our time to get things done
we can enjoy ourselves
in the sun and on the run

Then release the lever to get through to the glorious walkway
reaching out with leaves, the branches
transporting us to a place of contentment
above the ground
with less need for strenuous effort
so much of the time

The path
beaten by traffic
encourages autopilot moments
because we can not always
weigh each fine detail

We face the natural tests of time
in life
and all that we have
is based on our surroundings
and our ability to adapt and engage
overcoming the uncomfortable hours
that we may face
if we are not afforded due time
to solve problems
and address the current reason

Speeding down the highway
we may follow the masses
or slow to a crawl
often facing judgement that is in fact only
temporal in existence

If a dense weight has been
blocking our path like boulders
we have to challenge our fate
to feel alright
We should never be ignored
in life that we should elevate

If the fence gates have been
opened like cool file folders
we can’t make our stand too late
or skip invites
We should accept the rewards
Our work is lost if we hesitate
