Looking Up, Holding On

We all have to look up to someone

something

Most of us look to many

Tall trees stand for years and years

In these months some shed their

leaves

cones

and into the ground

piles of yellow and orange

Forgotten fruits of summer

become brown

black

and sink

Into the day

water glistening

*

We all have to look up to someone

To dream

At times there isn’t any

Society leaves us in tears and tears

In these times some live their

Fears

Unknowns

and into the night

Thrown to darkness and cold

Fall in the fight and suffer

Become numb

Die

Or reach

Ways to be saved by

Someone listening

*

We all look up to someone

something

Most of us look to many

Tall trees stand for years and years

Winter months choose their

branches

bend, break

and into the snow

Piles of dull blue and white

Nesting birds will recover

Creatures bright

Rise

And Fly

Up towards the sun

To treetops returning

*

Holding on

Life gives us a chance

Life appears different

Birds rise

colours dance

*

In days and seasons

Green leaves turn gold and spin

Bird’s eye view changes

New seasons begin

*

Holding on

Life is our chance

Life appears different

A bird turns

on a branch

Find ways and reasons

To understand

*

Just take a glance

Nature’s romance

Leaves fall down

Colours enhance

All year long

some stay green

Beauty remains

in all that is seen

*

Life is our chance

Life appears different

Dreams dance on a branch

Nature’s voice is insistent

Time stays bright above all

Forever birds call

*

My true love reflects the trees in her eyes

As long as I’ve known

These dazzling skies

Chitter chatter flocks around me

I Look in those eyes

Peace and love talk to me

As I take to the skies

*

We all look up to someone

something

Most of us look to many

Tall trees stand for years and years
