Nice sunset Wednesday night, even when the foreground is not the most profound (taken from the mall parking lot)
In many ways everything depends on our point of view…
FRIDAY !!!
Long weeks with so much going on. It is weird. They go by so fast in retrospect but getting through, they can definitely seem to drag in some hours, and even seem grueling. It doesn’t need to be that way, but sometimes we either do it to ourselves, or someone else, the environment or the system inflicts it upon us…. OR we avoid feeling stressed altogether for a while, if that’s possible.
The greatest mental health should enable us to deal with any situation without getting “stressed out.” IMO Achieved through physical health, social health and cognitive strategies, including in some ways, the ability to transcend.
There is a great deal getting accomplished, despite the less than moderate level of success to some eyes.
Sometimes we just feel like we are done with the unfair parts of life, but instead of boiling over, it is like I just evaporate. The stressor is still there, but I have set my boundaries to prevent the overflow, and with a certain release, I rise above the stressors, and carry on, like by blowing off steam in a healthy way, such as harmless self-expression and possibly helpful insight into a situation.
*
Then it’s like, I work to effectively express myself, whether that is with in-person dialogue or in this case, my writing. I am going to say what I say, and not worry about fitting into everyone’s cookie cutter image of what is necessarily cool, or fitting, which can actually be conventional ways of perpetuating an unfair situation.
*
So if the writing or dialogue seems blunt or ridiculous because it is unconventional… To those that object: I am not sorry. I work to get a vision and plan in my head, of how best for me (and very often IMO others), to get through life with a fair workload and fair rewards. If how I approach that seems off, let me know so I can offer my opinion and explain my perspective. I hope that you will agree with me that it can be helpful to vent, especially if we are imagining ways to deal with challenging situations.
*
This is a poem that I started last night and will now proofread, and put on finishing touches, including another verse or chorus if necessary…. And hey! Instead of watching television very much, this is what I do. It might not be “conventional,” and might even seem unusual but it is more productive for me. Don’t get me wrong, some TV is good; I just choose to use my time in other ways.

In another realm We are overwhelmed But right here We have no fear And we can handle anything
*
Over there They are unaware That we handle everything
*
In another world We are quite unsure But right here Our life is clear And we get through with no problems
*
Over there They still seem scared Misunderstanding is a problem
*
But sometimes the battles that they fight Don’t come to light Which can affect our own views too Understanding both sides is always right It is something that we should try to do
*
In another way We may have no say But right here We keep truth near And won’t blow it out of proportion
*
Over there Let’s find what’s fair Work hard to keep it in proportion
*
To what we contribute Or what we would if we could Our intentions and our efforts If we always strive to get things right And to help to make things better
*
We will not feel overwhelmed Finding more peace in this realm Recognizing that we are here together Right now for sure and though it may seem obscure Now is the key to forever
