Ripping through the day

Welcome programmed living
It is usually pay to play
Our diet of
new media and life
sometimes seems okay
But it does have a price

Learning better choices
Is learning to be wise
Finding our own voices
we need them to survive
Our awareness has to stay

Memories come from before
Understanding grows with praise
In current times we want more
There is always a way
*
Savour the taste of the moment
Take a fresh breath with the wind
Intricate visions of the future
Cool sounds for all of time

We need to feel much more
And know more in our mind
Make our choice to be
In front of a screen
Or on the scene
Like walking down a path in time

Bright green ferns
and fields of thick moss
Cover the living, outdoor floor
Fingers of branches
arms criss-cross
Life stretches out far
from our core

Trunks of trees rise so high
Branches reach out to hold the sky
Evergreens, cedar, spruce and pine
Like a dream
Patterns sway and wind

Bright leaves twist in the season’s breeze
There is life within the forest
We can hear a chorus
Musical keys to melodies

Birds make music
As do artists
We have
Videos and speakers pounding
Cameos of creatures counting

Climbing higher or digging down deeper
We are inspired and soaring regal
Heart beat steady of a
A flying eagle
A battle cry
And we reach out

Diving down with pinpoint accuracy
Then from ground to sky
We have no doubt
not much as we hold on tight to our life

We let them take firm hold
Or change the channel
Or app or site
All depending on our appetite
And things that we are sold

An absolute truth in life is that, how to find comfort is one of the most important things that we will ever know.

Sometimes that is all about calm reason.

This is some part of my philosophy, but with rhyme and rhythm and a few spare minutes…

If we stop to think about everything
Sometimes our thoughts explode
Meanwhile, the rest of the time
Our mind should create an even flow

Through the worst and the best
It depends how it goes
When we are on the edge
Like when we know
Times, sick or hurt or stressed
If we are unhealhy
And low
Put our brain to the test

How to find comfort
is everything
that we should ever need to know

Our mind is more likely to drag it’s heels
If we can’t be well
And we feel like hell
*
If we are at a time
When we haven’t thought things through
maybe jumped to conclusions
Or given into illusions
Somehow we can still get back
to level ground
and then charge through
If we can find that mood
With that mind set and attitude

We focus to feel just fine
all of the time
even when we are misaligned
*
It only takes one time
When it’s all on the line
To change the design
And get back to fine and better

We flow with anything and everything
*
If life is tweaked
Like by a tough week
Or pressures
on our nerves
Like anxiety

Set it free
For all it’s worth
Think of how to
Deal with everything
By reaching comfort in our thoughts

If at first we can not
Find it in our body
Then we should find it in our mind
Our life will surely follow
With the calm reason that we find

The title here is slightly misleading…

I sometimes refer to “choice words” as when I curse about something… and I do curse.

I just choose to keep it mostly out of my writing.

This poem is more about the impact and process of making choices.

I have choice words
What I am about to say
Just keep on going any way
Be cool
Be fair
Be strong and brave
Do not give up on the day
When it is always something
that we can save

We have choices
The pros and cons will not lie
Like what can we afford to buy?
Be real
Be fair
Be smart and wise
Get work done all of the time
We should each be able to
attain the prize

So we get back to it

A new sure way to survive
Every second there are
choices for us
About how to live our life

With our loudest voice
Other times we keep it quiet
without any noise
Sneak up on fate

Chance plays a large role in whether

We can still connect the outcome
to one single choice

In everything that we do

This one may seem gloomy at points, but is just another perspective of an otherwise bright moment. It is what it is.

Our senses pull us through and into times.

No matter how good the good times get
On the other side of now
There are still
storm clouds always present
We get used to them somehow
We find normal off-days pleasant
Because parts of them are great
The storm can always fade
Or become
Bearable at any rate

When we want it all
