All of our experience is filtered through our senses and brain. I would also relate conciousness and experience to the “soul” or our personal identity, aside from other scientific assumptions.
Our understanding builds itself within our very individual (but still connected) mind and through processing reality, including our internal needs and processes, our social circle, our environment, the media that we are exposed to and society in general.
So you may have a totally different view than me, but we will have to assume that we do share many similar perspectives, as we share a similar environment and similar make-up.
By exerting effort to learn to understand and share perspectives in life, by considering mutually shared and potentially shared angles, we gain more power to improve our shared space.
