The Thrill of Life

***

The thrill of life

A new design

It may be fine

But all the while

*

We can be riding on the edge of chaos

Working for a better pay-off

Life can be push push push

And then go go go

They say “Push hard, Pull back!”

And “You should go with the flow!”

But you never know

We may find more ways

to keep up with the show

*

The thrill of life

Comes day or night

It feels alright

And all the while

*

We can be flying

but we have to pay lots

The sun’s rays on us will stay hot

It can be rush rush rush

Feeling fine or low

They say “Speed up! Slow down!”

Or “Try to go with the flow”

But you have to know

There are many ways for us

To run the show

*

The thrill of life

Comes into sight

From dark there’s light

Just like a smile

*

In a good mood

Climbing higher

For more soul food

We all are buyers

We share the table

More should be stable

*

For our own peace

We each come first

For more comfort

We each have thirst

So fill all of the

Glasses and quench

Surface so tense

Like lakes or oceans

It is common sense

We obey emotions

Some of the time

*

It is best to stay grounded

The table is rounded

Share feasts

Don’t spread famine

Fair treatment

Good habits

Better than we imagine

Sea, land and sky magic

*

We may do best to cut the

Tethers we dread or

share a slice of bread

Sharpen justice instead

Grasping with talons

And perfect balance

Heart and head

Up to the challenge

Finding

The thrill of life

Through Each Day

Whatever I say
We will make our way
Through each day
Until all of the records are shattered

*

The next moment plays
A game in some ways
Every day
Our pure skills and good luck will be scattered

*

Like gems in a mine
that we work to refine

*

Whatever they say
We have made our way
Through the day
All our intention and efforts matter

*

We don’t get down low
When we stay on the go
To relax is a goal
And to fill our soul
With everything that we are after
Find connection to avoid distaster
Find protection in good sense and laughter

Good Momentum

***

 Momentum means progress

And inertia towards a goal

We can’t get anywhere

Without starting to roll

*

The way we talk

And how hard we rock

Depends on the moves that we make

*

The win we lock

And the world we shock

Depends on the punches we take

**

Endurance means progress

And stamina towards a goal

We can’t get anywhere

Without some kind of toll

*

The way we stand

And keep life in hand

Depends on the balance we make

*

The win we land

After all we planned

Depends on the challenge we take

*

Confidence means progress

And passion towards a goal

We can’t get anywhere

Without having some soul

*

The best that we can do

is take care but be bold

We can get somewhere

When momentum takes hold

Frustration vs. Progress

I wrote this just now.

It is not thoroughly edited, but I hope that people will find some helpful thoughts here.

I can’t always live up to my own suggestions.  Sometimes I wish I could.

I do apply steady effort!

***

We carry about life with major, or at least significant, stressors and/or challenges.  This may affect many or all parts of daily life.

*

If we can learn not to attach or associate frustration with that part of our life, we can not only avoid the discomfort of frustration but we can also channel our energy towards other pursuits, and in fact directly related pursuits that can help us make progress in overcoming the original stressor or challenge, but just with a different approach.

+

Frustration can force energy towards a part of life, a person, place or thing, a situation and it can cause a short circuit that does damage.  A more calm approach, where things can be more thought out has more chance to make practical progress in overcoming a stressor or challenge.

*

Progress only arrives with time.  Frustration very rarely helps a situation.  We can avoid frustration by focussing on the processes of life.  Breathe deep; focus on breathing.  Try to make progress just in getting through the time and make more practical progress in goals, such as overcoming challenges and stressors, when it becomes possible across time.

*

Pay attention to the moment, but detach our focus from negative feelings that are associated with the moment.  If we are not focused on negativity, we can achieve better outcomes by channelling our energy instead into pathways that are more effective in goal-pursuit such as planning, reason and confidence.

*

Eventually, when we get through the challenges, we may discover success in a new goal, and realize that it is better than our original goal.  For example, achieving a calm, relaxed and even pleasurable state, is often better than doing damage and perpetuating an issue.  Frustration can force an action that leads to further problems, when if we just handle our time better in the first place, by being calm, reasonable and confident, we get past more problems and avoid the discomfort associated with them.

We were at the lights last night. They are open until next week. Very cool…

Good as New

 Going through life

Minding my business

When out of the blue

There is no way to get through

I can not get up or down

I am stuck like

contact

cement glue

*

Knowing, “That’s life”

Trying to have success

With all that we do

I just keep on pushing through

If they bring the hammer down

I won’t ever

change my

point of view

*

There is always another way

Even if we start by standing still

We can wait for the way to clear

Comfort stays with our pure skill

*

What we think

And how we respond

Shapes all that we will find

*

Staying on top of things

thinking them through

getting clear past them

Helps us find more peace of mind

*

We can always find that

No matter where we are at

If we only have the time

**

Flowing through life

Finding our focus

It seems to be true

The best way to get us through

Is to know things will go down

But it will all come around

Calm thoughts

Can keep things

As good as new

Focus to Shape Our Experience

***

Changing our focus

Winding through corridors

extending at corners

A door is a source of

Expansion to explore

Or observe or ignore

General to specific

Location means more

Timing is everything else

At the core

What is small and on the horizon

Becomes big and defiant

What is big becomes small and distant

till it is  just another bygone

Days and places

Times and spaces

Fill up our world with scenes and faces

Flowing naturally forward

with a head of steam

Into another dream

Or that is how it may seem

*

Pathways down hallways

Everywhere on all days

*

Our focus determines our experience

Stay aware and choose

what we keep near to us

When possible

the scene can be clear to us

Right now and always

*

Focus to help it all stay

Or go where it all pays

To balance life

In meaning and more than appearance

That way we can shape our experience

Comprehension

Some snow days.

Sometimes, even the plants surprise us by defying the season…

I started this lyric a few days ago.

Please don’t mind some intentionally constructive criticism of some of the situations that we may face.

I work to get through with determination, balance and optimism.  I hope to comprehend the environment and social world around us enough, in order to give me time to react and contribute.

Just a poem.

***

We deal with way more

than they imagine

Their patience combusts

with just the mere mention

that we have too much to do

To ease all of the tension

It is beyond comprehension

*

I’m busy

I’m fighting

Yah, I can relax too

What makes them think that we have it

so easy?

*

They really don’t have any clue

*

We can have good ways

to make it happen

We find more focus

With intense attention

There’s nothing more we can do

Without our best intention

It is beyond comprehension

*

Our great effort is made

But they don’t hesitate

To lay down the blame

For their own mistakes

*

We are caught up

On their misguided path

So we just try to laugh

Try to avoid

their misplaced wrath

And even after that

Deal with the aftermath

Concentrate confidently

Just to feel great

We don’t hesitate

We can’t be late

To have a blast

We can get past

Somehow this time will last

*

I’m busy

I’m fighting

Why can’t I feel good too?

Sometimes i think

We may have it so easy

Believe me

*

We do what we can do

Always Feel Good Again

Hello Wednesday,

Winter has set in with some snow and ice.  Definitely in the mountains. This is not really a Winter poem.  It is more about the constant journey and how we can get the most out of it, and share with others.

***

I go through the days

Eventually the week

I can not help myself

I have to dwell on the times

*

I leave no stone unturned

No angle uncovered

I aim for good mental health

Forever stay in our prime

*

Find more comfort for hours

Summon the power

To always feel good again

*

And help others feel the same

*

We can make it some way

Make the most of the day

Stay in the game…

Hold onto our name

**

Realize

I don’t know all of the days

But of some things I will speak

We can help out ourselves

We all have different times

*

There is one thing to learn

We have to discover

Find more ways to better health

Among the mountains we climb

*

Create comfort for hours

Summon the power

To always feel good again

*

And help others feel the same

*

We can make it some way

Make the most of the day

Stay in the game…

Until the last flicker of flame

With the vision and warmth we claim

To always feel good again

And help others feel the same

More

Good morning,

The picture?

Weather and a lot of work.

The poem?

Is this just words for the sake of words?

I don’t think so.

It has meaning and it has rhythm!

I started writing with a different photo, but this moon fit the poetry better, as it developed.

Bear with me. Some writing has a different angle than others.

Choose our views

and what we want to do

Walk down by the water

Take in sights on a stroll

Or stay inside and watch

the late night TV show

*

Sometimes I

Am glad

that there is nowhere else to go

I would rather

Not go

to where the world has turned

*

To the time that we pay

Another day that we have earned

On the horizon I see

Another day that has burned

*

The outlook is grey

*

Some angles may seem grim

But if we look deep within

We can outshine the sky

And the threat that we will cry

*

It is all within our eye

And in our mind if we let it be

It is all that we will ever see

If we can break down barriers

Organize vision to

Overcome chaos

Gradual progress

We exchange

For one day’s loss

*

Work towards the best future

Because there is no detour

It is the only place to go

Until the moon sinks down real low

The month changes

We go through stages

*

Some will feel like a win

Some that we have to begin

We can outshine the sky

If we keep it in our eye

In our mind we

Choose our views
