What I Perceive

I am digging in my heels

And clenching my teeth

*

I start a new argument

Solid ground is beneath

*

It is out of this world

At first you might not believe

*

But with my feet firmly planted

I have a story to weave

**

The patterns in nature

and even on the wall

May seem intense and intricate

Or bland and dull

it is totally your call

*

Sometimes reality

catches my eye

Or sometimes it can be something I hear

It connects my soul to my life

Different worlds to my time

Life’s meaning starts

becoming more clear

**

The minutes of my day

Sun and rain that will fall

May seem intense and intricate

Some fall in love

and some can’t stand it at all

*

Sometimes reality

Makes sense to my mind

Or sometimes it can be something I fear

It connects my soul to my life

Different worlds to my time

Life’s meaning starts

becoming more clear

**

If I dig in my heels

And grit my teeth

*

I see the new argument

With nothing beneath

*

It is out of this world

But I have to believe

*

With my perspective so slanted

It’s about what I perceive
