We shouldn’t be surprised 

Life just has moments

We react when they arrive

We may question or cringe

What a time to be alive

Sometimes it’s not grand

We might say it’s all planned

When it’s fine, we are fine

While we read into the signs

We might run out of time

I’m strong

You’re strong

We don’t always compete

Quite clear it is disguised

Today has something 

While for more progress we strive

We may wonder who wins

Who will stagnate

and who thrives

Sometimes I can’t stand

When it gets out of hand

And find what we find

We just might lose our mind
