Double standards

for those in charge

We seem so small

While they feel large

Some don’t care

And will not play fair

They just want to have

the lion’s share

They may leave others with

nothing

Just so they

can feel in control

Growing old

Second guessing

Of those with less

Like easy prey

That predators press

They don’t think

They just want us to sink

They would rather 

Keep us on the brink

They may leave others just

hurting

This situation’s

out of control

Let me tell you something

Neglect is truly

Mean and cold

There is only one way out

Without a doubt

Round it off

Give reason clout

No more decisions

That suit only the few

Let’s reach out

To the masses too

Common sense

should get smarter

No lies and deceit

to make it harder

To understand

what is meant by

“the right thing to do”

Help more good logic

And compassion get through

Two different worlds

Between classes

Some work real hard

Some get free passes

Some reach out

Past barriers that loom

Hope divisions don’t bring

All of our doom

too much control
