So That Our Lives Flow

This poem was written before “Think About the Day.”  Certain language used developed upon further reflection and infinitely.  No intention to annoy….

It is light in the room
The fixture is bright
the blinds are half-closed
We dim it down soon
Until only our eyes glow
*
In the haze I make out your face
And the evening is lasting
We let the highs show
*
It is dark in the room
With glimmers of light
At the edge of the windows
Not much of a moon
As the overcast lies low
*
In the haze I make out your face
The morning is waking up
As your eyes open knowingly

With a target I see your smile bow

Kind aim like the sky

through the blind’s rows
*
Awake to the daily alarm

A music that charms us into the day
A few calm moments made their rounds
Energy found

at the river and over mountains

by leaps and bounds

When goals amount

To pathways pounding

We hit the ground running

proving to be real live pros

Taking us to achieve and thrive more

And strive for the most

All the while hoping that we are creating an essentially infinite day and night show

That we might know

As we help the time go

So that our lives flow
