I hold on tight

To my insight

It has taken a lifetime to find it

I take the fight

To a new height

But they have drawn a fine line to blind us

If we go past

We could sink fast

While they plan another attack from behind us

But if we last  

It is not rough

And emotions opposing won’t even mind us

I see the light

To make it right

But they have made a mean sign to grind us

If we have crashed

But have some class

They try to lower us further to define us

If we can grasp

It won’t be tough

Those opposing won’t be able to bind us

They may not notice us

Yet in some ways we stand out

If they don’t acknowledge us

It is not always planned out

They look down on us

Yet we are in some ways above

When they get around to us

They might just fall fast in love

It would be more fair

If we all were aware

Or at least if we all tried to be

**

I hold on tight

To my insight

It has taken

all of my life to find it

I take a bite

As it invites 

Because we’re designed together for brightness

We have a blast

If you should ask

We make things happen

better when time combines us

And if we match

We will be hot stuff

Once opposing

now we get further with kindness
