Written just off the cuff

I may act way different

than most people I know

They may think it’s messed up

Yet it won’t ever show

I think of new ways to chill

Just like I’m a pro

I’m sometimes a wonder

To the rest of the world

But they only hear thunder

When the lightening’s unfurled

Could be sent from above

It can seem so different

To some people I know

They think it’s a disgrace

And it won’t ever show

I think of new ways to thrill

Just like I’m a pro

Life may seem hard-wired

To understanding folk

But they won’t feel the fire

Unless somehow it’s stoked

Spiking down

From a nightmare

With stories to tell

Of intense days

Fires spread

But just a vision

Light saves us from Hell

A calming blaze

*

Drift along

In a daydream

But still seeing well

In practical ways

*

We are immersed

in the world around us

And surface to see

The universe than runs through us

I just can’t get enough

It should make a difference

For the people I know

Some think I’m wasting time

And it is all for show

I think of new ways with skill

Just like I’m a pro

I may impress and save

People who are hotter

But they won’t catch the wave

Unless they’re in the water

We are all immersed

in the world around us

But surface to see

The universe

that runs through us
