Bustling across the deck

On a fine Autumn Saturday

Larger in a picture

Brown and black and grey

Hanging out

Very close

To the cat’s tail for a while

The edge of time

Starts to climb

My foot stomps

To scare them both

So agile

Spider dives under

we hear thunder

The rain still makes me smile

We put up lines to reach out

For electricity

Entertainment

And to communicate

Spiders make their home

For their family or their prey

Humans have a web reaching out

all the way around the world

Around the cables

Over our heads

The hands of peace are curled

Safety first

For life we thirst

Each of our plans are unfurled

**

Birds seem to be happy creatures

Flitting all about

Tweeting, twittering

They seem to be giggling

Socializing with no doubt

They love the seeds we plant

Reach heights we often can’t 

They don’t criticize our chance

In the skies we are

All devout

**

Respect and recognition

First we need a vision

Some of the

hard parts of life are unavoidable 

Scary, dangerous even hidden

By life’s construction we are smitten

Pray we get past well

And find ways to more joy for all

Really simple math

Aim that direction

We will go

Work for health together

Each of us

Employable

**

We work hard for each day

Some don’t recognize it

Some work hard for their money

Some work harder

But are denied it

This superstitious thing?

Not really

I’m not blind yet

Much of the system

does not take into account

Our effort towards kindness

Can you get behind it?

It’s easy

to find it

Make it easy to find it

Be forward

Be bright

Be thick-skinned towards fighting

That has no bite

Be invincible in battles that

Take all of our time

Find satisfaction by creating

Health in our mind

Determines our mood and vice versa

Fight through hard times to find

Inner calm

Of love be aware

Stay in check

On a divine Autumn Sunday 

Invisible in a picture

Hanging around all day

Jumping out

Very close

When I walk by single file

The edge of time

Starts to climb

My head itches

It scares us both for a while

Spider dives under

Until Monday

Each day will make me smile

We put up lines to reach out

For electricity

To experiment

To communicate

Spiders make their home

Or their temporary place to stay

Humans have a web reaching out

all the way around the globe

Along the wires

Over our heads

The hopes for peace are known

Safety first

For life we thirst

Each of our plans should be shown

We all want to be happy creatures

Chatting while on route

Speaking, listening 

We seem to be strengthening 

Socializing with no doubt

We love the seeds we plant

Achieve heights

we have planned

They don’t criticize our chance

Have to shout

Are just days we can get through

Intense

Outrageous

Somehow fitting

By time’s production

Make our living
