There are moments in life that we

Like when a mistake is made

Throwing shade 

That makes us fill with doubt

Why do we have to think of

Unfair, unhappy things?

Often to get through them

And understand what stings

So we can heal it

Maybe we can’t repair it

But we can try

And get by

And feel better in time

If we are programmed that way

By genetics and experience

Crazy world keeps on spinning around

It won’t stay the same

Till we hit the ground

Getting down low with

The grind we all know

I’ve been on my own

All our friends are in our head

We’re Not better off dead

Open our eyes to get ahead

When the path is shown

We turn to stone

And roll until

Forever’s known

Feeling heavy

Wearing years of armour

Feeling steady

But setting off the alarm

And waking all the dragons dreaming

I want all of this world

And treasure gleaming

Now I’m out of this world

Trying to turn the other cheek

As I make it through the week

I begin to speak

But I am back in the dungeon again

Blazing world

keeps on bringing us down

It stays the same

When we’re on the ground

Getting down low with

The grind we all know

We may be on our own

No sticks and stones
